Scent of Tranquility
On summer evenings in Taiwan, I loved bringing a vase of wild ginger lilies into the house. Their delicate fragrance, drifting on the evening breeze, became part of my memories of Taiwanese summers.
Working from a plein air sketch I made in Taiwan years ago, I completed this painting here in California. Through these blooming ginger lilies, I hope to share with you a trace of that fragrance—the scent of a tranquil summer night.
